Bioshock to Get Patched and Some Free DLC Lovin’ Next Week

Wouldn’t it have been more fun if he was protecting the little sisters?
Over on the official Bioshock homepage, The Cult of Rapture, they are reporting that they will be releasing a patch for both the PC and Xbox 360 versions of the game. After all the uproar that happened after the game was launched, you would imagine this is going to fix the ‘widescreen issue’ that people were having. On top of this there will be some free DLC coming next week too (or just bundled into the update on the PC) adding the much fabled new plasmids and a way to turn off the vita-chambers (perhaps to get that new 100 point achievement?).
So will this be enough to make you pick up Bioshock, wipe the dust off the box and actually play it again? As it was an amazing game, let down by a short story and no multiplayer.

Oooh, an excuse to play it through on “hard” and get some missing achievements. Then again, would that be a good idea with the vita-chambers turned off..!?
FWIW, I thought that multiplayer might have ruined Bioshock a bit – I don’t know how they could have made it fit in with the excellent story, and the story is by far the most important bit. I agree that it was a bit short – long enough, though.
The update is upon us and it adds fixes for widescreen support, as well as some other minor things, plasmids (Machine Buster 1 & 2, Vending Expert 1 & 2, Sonic Boom 1 & 2, and EVE Saver), and the ability to disable vita-chambers.
The new achievement is called “Brass Balls” and is for completing the game on hard with the vita-chambers disabled.
