Best Home Arcade Ever? Do Want.

Author: Rees | Date: February 4, 2008

Peter Hirschberg’s Home Arcade

I Am Weeping Tears Of Joy As I Write This.

Omigod omigod omigod, as the people of the internets say. Now this, this is the absolute pinnacle of retro gaming geekery. I wanted to build my own MAME cabinet, but now… Well, let’s just say I’ve set my sights a little higher.

What you see above is part of Peter Hirschberg’s home arcade, which has 57 classic arcade machines fully restored to their former glory. Thankfully for Peter’s family, friends, and anyone else who fancies a visit, the arcade is open to the public (invitiation only) and all of the games are free, as he has coin machines rigged to give out free quarters.

He plays his personal collection of 80’s rock from the jukebox, and also has blacklighting installed to show off his UV-reactive space-themed carpet.

Mr. Hirschberg, I am truly in awe.
