Black, Pirates!, And Ninja Gaiden:Black To Hit Xbox Originals

Black Did The Brown / Bloom Combo Before GOW Was Even Thought Of…
So, it seems like Microsoft are taking their Xbox Originals seriously. In a little more than a week’s time, Xbox Live Marketplace will be seeing the addition of three pretty damn good original Xbox games: Ninja Gaiden Black, Sid Meier’s Pirates!, and Criterion’s excellent shooter Black.
To be honest, the only one I have a lot of experience with is Black, and anyone who knows me knows that this is a shooter I have a soft spot for. I thought it was a work of genius at the time, and one of the best games graphically on the original ‘box (even if they overdid the lighting effects in a few places). It also played like a bloody good FPS.
Of the other two, I’ve played a bit of Pirates! and I have to say that it is indeed excellent. I also played the original game a lot, and this new-skool remake expands and improves on the original in so many ways. Sailing the high seas pillaging ships, raiding defenceless villages, and knobbing the governer’s daughter is always a recipe for a good time.
Finally, I have to admit that I’ve never played Ninja Gaiden, although it is regarded as being one of the Xbox’s best games by its fans. Meh – I guess it’s there now in case the new one tempts me.
So, an excellent selection all around – bravo Microsoft, bravo. Now we wait patiently for February 11th to roll around so we can splash out our MS points on these beauties. Now all I need is Wakeboarding Unleashed, and my original ‘box can go to that great online auction in the sky…
