Guitar Hero Pocket

Another One Rides The Bus…

Check this out: available from March at Target, KB Toys, and Toys ‘R Us (in America at least), this little plastic doohickey should help fulfil all those mobile Guitar Hero cravings you keep having. Or not, as the case may be.

Still you can’t go wrong for $14.99, especially as this thing packs a rockin’ selection of tunes from GH and GHII, notably Smoke on the Water, Rock this Town, Cherry Pie, Killer Queen, You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’, Miserlou, Heart Shaped Box, Message in a Bottle, Jessica, and Surrender. It also has the all-important whammy bar, and is officially licensed and developed in conjunction with Activision and Red Octane themselves.

Good times, although the losers that buy this really should learn to play a real pocket-sized guitar instead.

Beepy fun in a Gameboy-esque way? That could be quite cheesily cool.

Or not.

Here’s a video of the beast in action. Actually, the “music” doesn’t sound too bad really, probably MIDI-esque but better than I was expecting.

Shame the stuff happening on the screen isn’t actually in time with the music at all. I thought that was the whole point of Guitar Hero!? Even accounting for the fact that the video and audio might be out of sync, I still can’t work out what’s actually what.

Strange.

Ross got a guitar hero rip off that connects to any generic MP3 player for christmas.

Don’t know how good it is, but it looks better than this thing. This makes tetris look high tech.
