The Stig’s Face – Revealed!

…Well, Kind Of.
The Auto Trader blog are reporting that someone (with a very bright flash indeed) managed to penetrate Top Gear tame racing driver The Stig‘s signature tinted visor and get a glimpse of his face – well, his eyes at least. I still have no idea who he is, but this is definitely going to add fuel to the fire.
The real question is, do we really want to know the true identity of The Stig?

it kinda ruins the whole ‘stig’ joke if you know.
people wouldn’t find them funny if they knew.
dam, you guys still don’t know it.
i forgot his name but it was the small guy in the show.
because when he had that accident the stig wasn’t on the show eighter.
I think they film The Stig’s stuff well in advance, like they do with the majority of the show. Also, if it was Richard Hammond, they could easily put someone else in the Stig suit and nobody would know any better!
The show was off air the whole time he was recovering, as far as I remember.

Ben Collins is the white Stig.

It makes me chuckle that the media have decided to pick up on this now when it has been common knowledge for so long…
Because of the license fee they take, the BBC are forced to publish a list of employees, and until Coulthard was employed earlier this year, there was only one race driver on their books, one Mr Benjamin Collins…
Of course, the entire point of the Stig is that he’s a mystery and it really gets me that the media feel the need to run these stories… Who really want’s to hear Clarkson say:-
“Some say he used to race ASCAR,
others say British GT…
All I know is he’s call Ben Collins”
Doesn’t really have a ring to it does it?
I think The Stig should be played by lots of different people, but that’d mean that the lap times lose all meaning – having the driver and the track as constants makes the comparison a lot more scientific.
Anyway, I have no idea who Ben Collins is, but I always thought the word “ASCAR” was hilarious.
the stig is Michael Schumacher OMG !!!!!
Is the stig really michael schumacher or was it a publicity stunt?
I really don’t believe that the stig is Schumacher. If it were someone so high profile the world would’ve found out by now. I still like the Ben Collins theory, although I think it’s qite often just the test driver they send down with the car (as in the case of Schumacher and the FXX this week).
