Rock Band Coming To EU 360s In May, Wii, PS3 After That

Author: SmellyGeekBoy | Date: April 8, 2008

Rock Band European Release Date Hits Gaming Press

Rock Band is launching in Europe on May 23rd as a timed exclusive for the Xbox 360, with the Wii and PS3 releases coming later in the summer, EA have announced today. The instrument pack will retail at £129.99, which comes with the drums, guitar, and microphone, but the game itself has to be purchased seperately, presumably at the going rate of £40.

That’s a grand total of £169.99, about £60 more than it is in the US - thanks EA!

As some small consolaion for the massive delay and stupidly high price, however, we do get some exclusive songs:

English

  • “Beetlebum” by Blur
  • “Rock ‘n’ Roll Star” by Oasis
  • “Monsoon” by Tokio Hotel
  • “Hysteria” by Muse

German

  • “Hier Kommt Alex” by Die Toten Hosen
  • “Perfekte Welle” by Juli
  • “Countdown to Insanity” by H-Block X

French

  • “Manu Chao” by Les Wampas
  • “New Wave” by Playmo

Finally, there is a European press event happening today, so hopefully there’ll be some more news coming out of that. Looks like our invite was lost in the post, just to add insult to injury.

Play.com are now taking pre-orders…  £40 for the game and £100 for the instruments, £140 not too bad, at least it’s better than £170!

I call it an early birthday present (a whole 2 days early!)

Haha, well my plan is to get the game from Japan and the instruments from the UK, if I get it at all. I’m still not so keen on the whole singing part!
