A New Challenger Has Appeared! [Updated]

Have you ever wanted to turn Batman to ice and smash him to pieces? Or turn into a dragon and rip Superman in half? If so then your in luck, because today, news surfaced that Midway plan to stand face to face against Capcom’s ‘Marvel vs Capcom’ series with their very own crossover game, ‘Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe’. There isn’t any details at this time, just a website, www.worldscollide.com, and this picture. All we can say for sure is that it will contain Sub-Zero and the caped crusader.

Personally, I’m not not going to get my hopes up on this one. It seems too obvious, Capcom snagged Marvel, so what other choice did Midway have? Plus, it’s the marriage of two losers (figuratively speaking), you see the Mortal Kombat series was never as good as the Street Fighter series to me. Sure you had fatalities and blood, but SF always had the better characters, was more accessible and always looked better too. And when you think of comic book heroes, does your mind go to Batman, Superman, Aquaman and, er… That’s about all the DC characters I know, or do you think of Spiderman, The X-Men, Captain America, The Incredible Hulk and many, many more household names.

So while I commend Midway for trying, I have a feeling this will be full of FAIL!

**Update** Well it seems DC have sucked all the life from the MK series here… They have confirmed my worst fear, no fatalities and no blood… Exactly what does this game have going for it now? Weren’t the blood and fatalities the only reason we played Mortal Kombat in the first place?
