Now here’s a novel approach for shy and retiring geeks to ask girls out – a Digg user known as Cargo8 uploaded this pic (local mirror) and submitted it with the following message:

Please, please, please digg this. I’m trying to get it to someone who does check Digg, but is new to it and, obviously, I’m asking her to Prom. If this gets to the front page or at least somewhere it can be seen that would be Amazing. please digg this for me. DIGG HERE, you dont even have to look, just click! PLEASE!

…It looks like his plea for help worked too, as of writing, 7,167 people have “dugg” his story and propelled it onto the front page. As the girl he’s asking out is a fellow Digg user, she should hopefully see it and be impressed with his geeky antics.

So to Cargo8 I say this… I hope she says yes, as you are truly a shining example to the geek species.
