ASDA Breaks GTA IV Street Date
Author: Rees | Date: April 26, 2008According to a user on the PLAYSTATION forums, known as mcneil84, the ASDA supermarket in Alloa, Clackmannanshire (up in bonnie Scotland) have broken the street date on GTA IV, selling it a full three days before the official release date. Don’t believe him? Well, he also posted the picture above (and another) as proof. I think that’s pretty conclusive proof.
Of course, smaller places break street dates all the time, and generally the offences are so small that publishers turn a blind eye. But ASDA are one of the biggest supermarkets in the UK – and also part of the Wal-Mart group – so I’m willing to bet that heads will roll for this little slip-up.
So, if you’re excited about GTA IV (which I have to admit that I’m not particularly), and you have a PS3, you should pop on up to the land of coos and kilts and grab your own copy. Just don’t go online with it, or Take Two will get medieval on your ass.
