Retro Computing Corner: Real Men Use 1-Bit Colour
Author: Rees
So I’m looking at my Google Analytics page for the site, and I spot something interesting. Seems like someone out there has viewed our site in 1-bit colour. Yep, 1 whole bit, that’s either on or off, true or false, or more accurately, black or white.
I’m pretty sure they were looking at something classic Mac related (that would make sense, after all), so here’s a picture from Flickr user TheNixer which proves that 1-bit web browsing is not only possible, but people are actually doing it right now on their old Macs. This screenshot is from an SE/30.
He also has lots of other lovely classic Apple stuff in his Vintage Macintosh set, so check it out.
