Build And Fly Your Own Plane With The Red Bull Flugtag Game

TTB Red Bull Flugtag Plane

I’ve just been playing Red Bull’s Flugtag Flightlab, a pretty impressive flash game designed to to promote their Flugtag event. For those not familiar, it involves contestants designing and building their own flying machines, before using said machines to hurl themselves into The Serpentine lake at Hyde Park.

Much in the spirit of the event, the game allows you to design and paint your own plane and then attempt to fly it as far as possible before eventually splashing down in their virtual lake. There are online leaderboards, and you can also submit your best designs to the hangar for others to use.

Unfortunately I didn’t have the balls *ahem* to submit the impressive specimen you see above.

Tap up or down to flap, use A and S to steer. You can flap just the left wing or right wing with the left or right arrow keys. I’m not sure why so many people are struggling with it, but maybe that will help.
