Aaaaanyway, Microsoft have announced that XNA games will be coming to the Zune this month. It’s only a CTP (Consumer Technology Preview), but it does mean that developers and Zuners alike can get their hands on this highly anticipated technology – and with the Zune’s large screen and D-Pad interface, it’s ideal for all sorts of games.
In true Zune fashion, the tech will also apply to owners of Zune 1.0 and not just the latest versions, so everyone (myself and OX included) can get in on the fun. On the technology side of things, the Zune provides 16MB of RAM, the Freescale iMX31L processor, and 320×240 screen resolution for developers to play with. XNA games will also allow up to 8-player multiplayer using the Zune’s internal wi-fi.
