Neo Geo Was Almost Gameboy Compatible
Author: Rees | Date: May 8, 2008
Apparently, a company called Ganksoft were once working on a project to develop a peripheral for the Neo Geo Pocket Color which would allow it to run Gameboy games. To paraphrase Ganksoft’s own words, the NGPC was indeed almost fast enough to allow the titles to run, however the project had to be abandoned when Neo Geo stopped supporting the Pocket Color in America. There are, however, some screenshots of the software itself on the company’s site.
It’s interesting to think about what would have been… Maybe if this project came along a little earlier it would have saved the excellent handheld from certain doom. Then again, it could’ve just been another Bleemcast.
