Classic Nintendo Furniture: The Next Big Thing?

Today not one, but two excellent clasic Nintendo-themed bits of furniture caught my attention. The first is the NES controller coffee table you see above – and the cool thing about this is that it doesn’t just look fantastic, it also actually works. It was built by the incredibly talented Kyle Downs, a 20 year old from Victoria, Australia, and he’s posted a whole series of build photos and stories, and even his original plans so you can build your own!
The other thing that caught my eye was this rather awesome Duck Hunt lamp. Made from a combination of a 1.5 scale game cart and a real-life NES zapper, by a Crafster forum user known only as fluffypants, it’s definitely full of win. Yet again, it also actually works, and comes with a painstakingly-crafted pixelly lampshade.
