Leaked Screenshots Of Viva Pinata 2: “Trouble In Paradise”
Author: Rees | Date: May 12, 2008
D’oh! Looks like someone at Microsoft screwed up and posted a load of screenshots of VP2 to Microsoft’s GDC ’08 press area a little early. The pictures have since been removed, but a plucky NeoGAF member managed to grab copies of them and share them for the world to see.
By the looks of the screenshots, it looks like we’ll be getting new pinatas, different climates, and weather effects. The UI has also supposedly been simplified to make the game more accessible, as it was pretty complicated for a kids’ game. Mysteriously, two of the shots also seem to feature a cemetary…

In a sad kind of way, I think VP is one of the most underrated games on the 360, and I’m hoping that Microsoft have realised its potential and are going for more of a push this time around.

You missed the other vital point, the penultimate picture shows 2 cursors, one spade and one watering can, hopefully that means they finally sorted the co-op mode we were supposed to get in the first game!
Hmm… the “cursor” on the watering can just looks like the old water meter thingy to me. I could be wrong, though, and we could soon be having hours of fun gardening together – in a totally macho way, of course.
Yes, but unless there has been some kind of massive change, you cannot have the watering can and the spade out at the same time… And a very long time ago Rare were looking at putting a co-op mode into Viva Pinata via an auto-update… See quote from Eurogamers preview of the first game:-
But isn’t that the auto watering can?
Co-op mode would be cool though, so here’s hoping. The new climates look like they should be interesting too, and much bigger gardens with more varied terrain would also be a big bonus.
Somebody somewhere else also mentioned more aquatic life, like penguins, seals, fish, etc. and maybe even underwater gardens… That would be hella awesome!
There was no auto watering can, just a hireling you could hire to go round and (over) water your plants.
I meant the one pour wonder.
