Free Remake Of Chill Out Coming July 7th

Believe it or not, Halo 3 isn’t actually gone and forgotten at all, even if a lot of us haven’t signed in for some Team Slayer action in quite a while. There are 400,000-odd players who are still playing every day - after all, we’re talking about a game that’s been lurking around the top of the most played games list ever since its release last September.

And it looks like Bungie’s best-selling shooter will be getting another boost in popularity shortly, as the eagerly anticipated remake of Halo:CE’s excellent (and very tiny) multiplayer map Chill Out, now known as Cold Storage, will be released for free on the 7th of July. That’s the 7th of the 7th, for anyone who’s still doubtful about the whole Bungie 7 fetish thing.

Also, for one day only there will be an exclusive gamerpic and Xbox Dashboard theme, and the Legendary Map Pack will be reduced in price from 800 to 600 points (although Bungie Pro is no longer included). Check out the official announcement here.
