Mini USB Flash Drive FTW!

Author: SmellyGeekBoy | Date: July 3, 2008

Austin Mini USB Flash

Everybody knows that the original Minis were awesome - much better than that German rubbish they make nowadays. So why not celebrate their awesomeness every time you need to move some files about?

These 1:48 scale USB-enabled replicas will be available from Vavolo as of this August. There’s the Cooper model you see above, as well as LBL 6D, the iconic Mote Carlo winning Works Cooper from 1967, and even a little 1960s-tastic Mini police car.

I can’t find any details on prices or capacities yet, but I’m sure that they’ll be surprisingly roomy. In a clever twist, the USB connector is retractable and fits snugly into the boot (or trunk, if you’re American). I think that even a Mini boot could accommodate one of those!

Finally, I’m surprised that they even managed to get the external door hinges, bumper over riders, and twin tanks right - plus the headlights light up when plugged in. Nice!

I’m not sure whether they’ve worked out a way to make these things leak oil yet, however.
