New Rock Band 2 Details And Tracks Emerge
Author: Rees | Date: July 11, 2008
Remember the list of Rock Band 2 songs that was released a couple of days back? Let me refresh your memory:
- Dream Theater - “Panic Attack “
- System of a Down - “Chop Suey”
- Foo Fighters - “Everlong”
- The Muffs - “Kids in America”
- Red Hot Chili Peppers - “Give it Away”
- Motörhead - “Ace of Spades”
- Cheap Trick - “Hello There”
- Elvis Costello - “Pump it Up”
- Journey - “Anyway You Want It”
- The Who - “Pinball Wizard”
Well, looks like we have some more confirmed tunes, thanks to the latest issue of Game Informer. Featuring the likes of Bon Jovi, and the previosuly leaked Billy Idol hit White Wedding, the list is shaping up pretty nicely for us fans of cheesy classic rock:
- Bon Jovi - “Livin’ on a Prayer”
- Steve Miller Band - “Rock ‘n Me”
- Rage Against the Machine - “Testify”
- Billy Idol - “White Wedding Pt. 1″
- Joan Jett - “Bad Reputation”
- Avenged Sevenfold - “Almost Easy”
- Social Distortion - “I Was Wrong”
Not bad eh? There are also some details on the new drumkit, which is supposed to have quieter pads (which are also velocity-sensitive), a reinforced pedal, and slots for optional cymbals. The game will also be compatible with a special limited edition electronic kit from Ion, which will also function as a standalone kit.
Rock Band 2 will also feature a new Jukebox Mode, which allows players to listen to their songs without playing the game (much like a jukebox, oddly enough), auto lag calibration, and the ability to mess around with the instruments and “tune” them during loading screens. There is also a new photo mode, making it possible to pose and photograph your band members, with the pictures being uploaded to a special website.
It has also been confirmed that the new guitar will feature quiter buttons and a less “squishy” strum bar. This game is shaping up to look even more awesome than the first - which is no mean feat.
