Microsoft’s ‘Lips’ Revealed
Author: Vince | Date: July 12, 2008Microsoft’s long rumoured ‘Lips‘ game has finally surfaced along with it’s microphones (sadly not the ones we predicted) if Gamekyo are to be believed. Essentially, Lips is Microsoft’s answer to Sony’s Singstar games, allowing you to sing along in a karaoke style to songs, with points awarded for how well you do.
The game will ship with 2 mics (pictured above), which are encrusted with LED’s that light up with your voice and are motion sensitive. No news as to how many songs there will be on the disc, what style of music they will be (although I would imagine we’re mostly looking at pop songs) or on what level of DLC love the game will get. I guess if the game is well received, especially in Japan (those crazy karaoke loving bastards!), then we will see something akin to Sony’s Singstar Store appear on Live with new songs being added constantly, a la Rock Band.
Expect to hear more about Lips when E3 kicks off on Monday, because if true I’m sure Microsoft will be singing from the rooftops about this one!
