E3: Portal: Still Alive To Be Xbox 360 Exclusive [Updated]

Author: Vince | Date: July 14, 2008

Yup, GLaDOS is back and only on the Xbox 360!  Portal: Still Alive has just been announced as a XBLA title coming this fall.  Following a lovely introduction from the lady GLaDOS herself, we were teased by the promise of new test chambers and achievements, and that was about it…

I’m sure we’ll hear plenty about this in the coming weeks!

[Update] So more details on Still Alive have surfaced, and it seems that the game will be the full version of Portal from The Orange Box with some additional levels (the flash game map pack?) and some new game modes.

If it’s really an Xbox exclusive, that makes me feel like slapping valve in the face.

No way is it going to be Xbox360 exclusive. It did very well on PC, and Steam is generating a lot of profit.

I doubt very much that Portal 2 would be exclusive to the 360… Maybe timed exclusive, or exclusive as far as the consoles are concerned, but Valve are first and foremost a PC games company and they wouldn’t do something like that to their core audience.

That said, I don’t think that this “Still Alive” is “Portal 2″ at all – I think it’s more like an spinoff or a level pack, or something along those lines. So this game could well be 360 exclusive, but it ain’t Portal 2.

It’s still going to be awesome, however.

Oh, and I know nobody specifically mentioned the words “Portal 2″, but I’m just thinking out loud!
