Gran Turismo 5 Delayed Until 2010?

Joystiq managed to get a few words with Gran Turismo 5 creator Kazunori Yamauchi at E3, and asked how GT5 was coming along. The response was grim as he confirmed that his studio, Polyphony Digital, currently have most of their staff working on updates and content for Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, adding that i could be 2010 before the full GT5 sees the light of day.
Is this the right move by Sony? As I seem to remember that it was no so long after the first screens for Forza 2 were released that we first heard that GT5 was to be pushed back and that the chunk of the game that had been made so far would be released as GT5 Prologue, but by the time GT5 is ready then Forza 3 will either be out already of very close to release… So what’s to stop them doing it again if Forza 3 turns out to be more of a GT killer than they expected?
Maybe Kazunori should stop making TV programs for people to download in game and concentrate on the game… After all, I know I wouldn’t buy a game just so I could pay to download every episode of Top Gear, and surely they could release the game without GTTV and just patch it in when it’s finished?
