Rock Out On The Cheap With SHREDMASTER!!! RAWK!!
Author: Rees | Date: July 23, 2008
Check this out rock fans! It’s the Shredmaster Jr, just £22.50 from all good toy sellers near you (if it ever comes back into stock). It features 10 officially-licensed songs, including Metallica’s Master of Puppets, Nirvana’s Smells Like Teen Spirit, and The Eagles’ Hotel California.
Best of all, it plugs straight into a standard TV, so no need to lug an expensive games console around with you when you feel the need to rock out.
Unfortunately, that’s where the good news stops. As would be expected from something so cheap, this thing sounds absolutely horrendous – I thought MIDI died along with high-speed internet, and I guess I was wrong. At least this painful rendition of Master of Puppets reminds me a bit of DOOM. You know what I mean?
You hear that noise? That’s the late, great, headless Kurt Cobain turning in his grave. For the love of all that is holy, please just splash out on a proper console and a copy of Guitar Hero or Rock Band, mmmkay?

WTF!
You’re honestly telling me that some exec at Metallica’s record label heard that and thought ‘Yeah, that’ll help sell more records!’…
What’s the problem with this? So what if it sucks? Some kids are going to have a chance now to play a (version of a) game that they wouldn’t otherwise because they couldn’t afford the $340+ required to actually play GH. Some people out there are not as lucky as us and cant afford those kinds of luxuries but still have the same desires to enjoy them.
I think my ears are bleeding from the MIDI. “Move Over” is not the proper phrase here.
