More Retro Handhelds Coming From ‘Megadrive’ Maker

Remember that portable Megadrive we featured a while back? Well, its manufacturer, a company called Blaze, have announced that due to the success of the officially-licensed handheld they will be bringing some more devices to market in the coming months. Blaze’s Marketing Manager, James Gill, had this to say in a recent interview with MCV:
“The response from consumers and retailers alike has been great and interest is very high… We hope to gain traction in the market with these products in the run-up to Christmas, and we already have other products in development that will also be released and will continue the retro theme.”
He goes on to attribute the handheld’s success to a resurgence in retro gaming brought on by Nintendo’s Virtual Console and Microsoft’s Xbox Live Arcade.
The company hasn’t announced exactly what it is that they’re working on yet, but I think a portable SNES with built-in Mario, Zelda, and Mario Kart (plus a few others of course – I’m no SNES expert) would be a pretty safe bet. Perhaps they’ll even bring back TTB‘s favourite console ever… the Atari Jaguar.
