Vigilante 8: Arcade Enters MS Certification Process
Author: Vince | Date: August 13, 2008
News has surfaced that Isopod Labs have submitted their XBLA reimagining of the 1998 Playstation classic Vigilante 8, imaginatively named Vigilante 8: Arcade, to Microsoft for final certification. This hopfully means we will se this released by the end of sumer or early autumn if there are no problems. Isopod have also announced that there will be DLC coming for V8: Arcade and that the original playstation models for the cars will be unlockable within the game so that you can marvel in their 200 polygon glory.
4-way splitscreen multiplayer is confirmed for the new game, as well as 8-way online play. I can safely say I’ll be buying this when it hits, as I dread to think how many hours I lost playing multiplayer Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense on the Dreamcast, and if it’s still half as fun as I remember it then it’s gonna rock! The price has been confirmed as 800msp.

I remember playing this game but I couldn’t for the life of me remember what it was called. It’s like a much, much better version of Novadrome (although a kick in the balls would be better than Novadrome, in my opinion).
Looks like this one will be on my “must-buy” list, too. Now if only they could bring back the original Destruction Derby…
