Save Your 360 From Certain Death With Lian Li’s XB01
Author: Rees | Date: August 14, 2008
Lian Li have just released this rather fetching replacement case for the Xbox 360, which is designed to improve heat dissipation and therefore help to prevent the infamous Red Ring of Death.
Being the only person I know who hasn’t suffered the RRoD, and I know I’m tempting fate here but my warranty is up in 8 weeks so so I’d really like it to die sooner rather than later, I don’t really have a use for this case. It is very pretty though, almost like the Mac Pro, in fact.
You can buy one in the UK from XCase for £59, which seems very reasonable for a stylish Lian Li case. I guess it’d be pretty handy for any miscreants wanting to mod and/or hack their 360 and need a little more space inside, as well as people paranoid about their consoles dying randomly.
If only the XB01 had space for a standard PC motherboard as well, we could build the modern equivalent of the Mega PC. Maybe not, eh?

Don’t worry, even without warranty, RRoD’s are covered free by Microsoft.
Well that’s good news. I thought they were only covered up to 3 years from the date of manufacture?
