Classic Mac ‘High Art’ Collection Goes Up For Sale
Author: Rees | Date: September 6, 2008
Back in 1987, Apple released the Mac SE, a computer much loved by many classic Mac afficionados (including myself!). To launch the computer in Sweden, artist Erik Saxen was commissioned to paint a series of oil paintings inspired by well-known art pieces, which were then used in a national advertising campaign, as well as being printed up as large posters for display in Apple retailers.
Fast forward 21 years and the art is now up for sale. It has been kept in temperature-controlled storage in Florida and Saxen is now accepting serious offers through his contacts at myoldmac.net. Ideal if you own a classic Mac museum, are into retro advertising, or even if you’re a fanboy with money to burn.
The original oil paintings are around 70x100cm, a real conversation piece!
