GTA Brings ‘Dope Wars’ To The DS

Anyone who was an impressionable youth a few years back (like me) probably wasted many an hour in a school computer lab somewhere, trying to make mountains of cash by building a veritable narcotics empire with their hoodlum friends.
I’m not talking about real life, of course (well, maybe for some people, but not most of us), I’m talking about a little Windows app called Dope Wars. The basic premise of the game was to travel around buying drugs in the cheap part of town and selling them on to the rich kids in other parts of town to maximise profit. There have actually been a few interpretations of the classic formula over the years, the most recent being a notoriously piss-poor implementation on Facebook.
Well, it seems like the game will be reaching a whole new audience soon, as Rockstar’s upcoming GTA: Chinatown Wars for the Nintendo DS will feature a minigame which seems extremely familiar. More details will emerge when the game is featured in EDGE tomorrow, however we do have these lovely screenshots from T3 to gaze upon and ponder right now.

So ponder we shall. But where’s the Special K?
