Electric Powered Delorean For Sale On eBay

If you’re the kind of person who can recite all three Back To The Future films (or at least the two that were actually worth watching) line-for-line in their entirety (*ahem*), you’ve probably dreamed of owning a DeLorean ever since you first clapped eyes on its shining stainless steel beauty.

Unfortunately, classic DeLoreans are holding their value rather well, and that V6 engine coupled with the weight of a small house means that it ain’t so economical. Basically, by the time you’ve saved up enough pennies to buy one, there probably won’t be enough oil left in the ground to actually run the bloody thing, let alone at 88MPH.

Battery Powered

Enter, then, the electric DeLorean. It may only manage 40 miles on a single charge, but it only takes 2 hours to top back up – so it’s almost practical! It’s also available now from eBay seller doctorhd for a bargainous $100,000, and hey, it has to be a lot less embarrassing than the alternative

Gullwing Doors In All Their Glory

Here are some more details:

The stock V6 has been removed and replaced by a powerful electric motor. This car is quicker than a stock DeLorean and it’s top speed is over 88 MPH.

This amazing car is powered by thirteen 12 volt 100 amp-hour deep cycle Deka 9A31 Intimidator AGM batteries. The famous Zila Z1K – HV motor controller supplies up to 1000 amps of current to the series wound WarP 9 electric motor.

It Even Has A Flux Capacitor As Featured In Back To The Future

And yes, it even features a flux capacitor. Where this thing’s going, it won’t need roads… Well, OK, it will, but it won’t need any petrol.

If Doc had done this in the first place they wouldn’t of got stuck in 1885.

All it needs is a Mr Fusion to generate the electricity and it would be perfect.

We all know that Watts = Amps x Volts, so with this thing requiring 1000 amps at 12 volts, that equates 12 Kilowatts of power.

That’s pretty much exactly one millionth of the 1.21 Gigawatts that the time circuits use, so you could really easily power this thing off of a Mr. Fusion without too much hassle.

Good call!

Also, I just noticed in the second picture that the guy obviously owns two DeLoreans. It doesn’t get much better than that!

Probably the real reason this one hasn’t got its original V6 engine!

Ha ha! I changed mine to Doc Brown yesterday for that very same reason, and it still hasn’t appeared. I wouldn’t get too excited about yours appearing any time soon either!

Mine isn’t quite Doc Brown, but i’m sure you will recognise who it is when you see it.
