Warning: This video is very big and will buffer the first 30 seconds!
As promised, here are our highlights from the Eurogamer Expo, a 2-day event happening yesterday and today at The Old Truman Brewery in London. The people we spoke to all agreed that the even had been excellent, with lots of free goodies and the chance to play on lots of this season’s hottest games.
This video features off-screen footage of the following games, in order of appearance:
- Banjo Kazooie – Nuts & Bolts (Xbox 360)
- GTI Club+ (PS3)
- Mirror’s Edge (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)
- Motorstorm: Pacific Rift (PS3)
- Resident Evil 5 (PS3, Xbox 360)
- Street Fighter IV (Arcade, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)
- Resistance 2 (PS3)
- de Blob (Wii, DS)
- Left 4 Dead (PC, Xbox 360)
- Legendary (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)
- Killzone 2 (PS3)
- Shaun White Snowboarding (PC, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, DS)
- Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars (Wii)
- WWE: Smackdown vs. RAW 2009 (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, DS)
- Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)
Plus a special little bonus because it made me smile, an independent PC game called WAR TWAT which will bring back many happy memories for fans of the insane Jeff Minter games of the 16-bit era.
These games were playable, but aren’t included in the video because of filming restrictions:
- Gears of War 2
- Fallout 3
- Call of Duty: World at War
Here are our photos of some of the highlights of the event:
Finally, despite all the high-profile shooters, fighters, and racing games at the expo, the surprise highlight for us was definitely Shaun White Snowboarding on the Wii. It makes use of the balance board so well, in a way that feels very natural and very immersive to play. A must buy if you own a Wii, and if you don’t, you’d be fogiven for buying one just to play this game – it’s that good.
