‘Broken Steel’ DLC to Change Fallout 3’s Ending

Author: Vince | Date: December 12, 2008

In a recent interview with Ugo Games Blog Fallout 3’s lead producer, Jeff Gardiner, revealed that the 3rd planned batch of DLC for the game, entitled ‘Broken Steel’, will allow you to continue on past the end of the game.  Now, anybody who has completed Fallout 3 will know that currently that is not possible due to how the game ends, but to get around that minor detail the dev’s intend to change the ending, a bold move, and possibly a first for gaming.  In Jeff’s own words:-

“In our third DLC, “Broken Steel,” we’ve come up with a way of allowing the player to continue on past the game ending… by changing it!  You will not have to load in a new game to play any of the DLC material – though you will have to finish the main quest to experience most of what “Broken Steel” has to offer.”

More details have also surfaced on ‘Operation Anchorage’, the first piece of scheduled DLC.  The mission will see you take part in the liberation of Anchorage from the Red Army, a historic battle is referenced throughout Fallout 3, in a simulator.  The expansion extends the game by 4-5 hours and will increase the maximum level cap and introduce new weapons, armour and achievements when it is released in January for 800 exclusively for Xbox 360 and PC.

this game is awesome, I’ve been playing it for the last couple of days and it has very few things that I don’t like.
