Shoot-em-ups, or “Shmups”, have long been a staple of the arcade, as well as the home consoles. Seems like they’re dying a death just lately, despite the recent release of the excellent R-Type Dimensions, but at least you can relive those glory days thanks to these excellent Shmup scene generators in vertical and horizontal format.

In fact, the guy behind the site also came up with this arcade font generator, using fonts ripped directly from genuine arcade games using some MAME magic.
