It’s Big, It’s Heavy, It’s Wood!
Author: Rees | Date: May 2, 2009Here’s something you don’t see every day – it’s an arcade machine carved out of wood. A little bit like my very own VideoStar, but perhaps a little more eco-friendly… And a bit less, well, actually “playable”.
It was carved by Dutch art group Uitschot (which apparently translates as “piece of trash”) and is known as the Gameboom – or gametree. Apparently the target audience of the artwork is “Citykids who are allergic to nature, dragged along by their parents, but who would rather be gaming”.
