E3: Microsoft’s Press Conference Highlights
Author: Rees | Date: June 1, 2009
So, Microsoft’s pre-E3 press conference is all over, and boy what a conference it was. It started off with some confirmed tracks for The Beatles: Rock Band, with real-life Beatles members on stage, went on to cover Tony Hawks’ RIDE, and showed off some footage of the hugely-anticipated Modern Warfare 2.
We then got to take a sneak peek at Epic’s new Xbox Live Arcade game Shadow Complex, we got the official announcement of Left 4 Dead 2, and we got to see the incredible Forza Motorsport 3 in motion. Then Bungie took to the stage and really got the party started, with some footage of Halo 3: ODST and an announcement of Halo Reach (AKA Halo 4).

As if that wasn’t enough, we got Facebook, Twitter, and Last.fm added to our Xbox Dashboards, and Hideo Kojima came onstage and revealed that we’re getting a new Metal Gear Solid game.
Finally, in perhaps the gaming news of the year, Microsoft unveiled their revolutionary motion capture system, Natal, and showed off Milo, perhaps the most impressive tech demo seen in a long time at E3. If this is what Microsoft have to offer, I can only wait and see how Nintendo and Sony are going to try to top this. Stay tuned to the rest of our E3 footage to find out!
