E3: EA Press Conference – Star Wars: The Old Republic
Author: Vince | Date: June 2, 2009
The lights dimmed, 30 or so grown men in robes with plastic lightsabers took to the stage and familiar orchestral music began to play. That could only mean one thing, Bioware were about to show us their upcoming MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic.
SW:TOR will be the first MMO ever to be completely voiced, using 1000′s of voice actors to record hundreds of thousands lines of dialogue in an attempt to make the experience as immerse as possible. We were then told how every class will experience and play the game differently each with their own storylines, this combined with evolving nature of MMO’s should lead to the game never being the same when playing through with any character.
Finally we were treated to what I assume will be an in game cinematic to set the scene for the game showing how the empire rises to power. You can see the trailer on the games official site here, and for more information check out MTV’s exclusive coverage.
Check out screens from Star Wars: The Old Republic after the break.
