E3: Lego Rock Band Trailer, Details & Screenshots
Author: Vince | Date: June 4, 2009
We all love Lego right? And we all love Rock Band right? Well this winter Warner will be bringing you both of them in one package in the form of Lego Rock Band on all major formats. Aimed at a younger audience than the standard RB games it aims to combine the multiplayer experience of Rock Band with the accessibility, customization and humor of the Lego games. LRB allows players to create their own unique rock star style and customize their own band members, roadies, and managers.
Success is no longer rewarded with money but with that global Lego currency ‘studs’ instead. These can be used to unlock additional content and build crazy vehicles which will take you from gigs at local clubs to stadiums and even epic fantasy locations as you progress through the game.
New to the series will be ‘Rock Power challenges’ where you will have to pull off a killer riff in order to perform amazing feats such as destroying a giant robot, summoning a storm or demolishing a skyscraper. Also new to the series will be the new ‘super easy’ difficulty… This is a kids game after all!
There is no word on whether standard Rock Band DLC will be compatible of if the tracks from LRB will be exportable, but so far the following songs are confirmed for the game with plenty more to come:-
- Jackson 5 “I Want You Back”
- Foo Fighters “Breakout”
- Vampire Weekend “A-Punk”
- Blur “Song 2”
- Carl Douglas “Kung Fu Fighting”
- Europe “The Final Countdown”
- Good Charlotte “Boys and Girls”
- Pink “So What”
We will keep you up to date with tracks and information for Lego Rock Band as and when they become available.
