Back in April Microsoft announced that Guitar Hero: Metallica & Rock Band 2 would be patched to support the wireless mics from MS’s karaoke game Lips, and while I’m sure that has boosted the sales of Lips Microsoft has decided to make the logical move and sell the mics as a stand-alone package later this year.

The stumbling block though is the price, at $49.99 each you might as well go and pick a copy of Lips up from Amazon and get 2 mics plus the game for the same price…  In fact, I think that’s exactly what I’m going to do so we can rock out with full 3 part vocal harmonies later this year when Rock Band: The Beatles is launched, as the mics will be supported from launch.
