This Week in Rock Band: Billy Joe & Co. Edition
Author: Vince | Date: July 5, 2009
Green Day finally break their rhythm game virginity this week with a 3 songs from their latest offering ’21st Century Breakdown’, including the latest singles ‘Know Your Enemy’ & ’21 Guns’, being released for Rock Band. This is the start of an exclusive partnership between Green Day and MTV Games, meaning we should see some of those classic GD songs from Dookie, Insomniac and American Idiot sooner rather than later, but until then I guess we’ll have to settle for these slightly lacklustre new songs.
Alongside the Green Day pack we will also be getting an eight song pack from artists performing at this years ‘RockStar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival’, including Behemoth, Cannibal Corpse, Slayer and the self proclaimed god of f**k, Marilyn Manson.
So a full on metalfest is on the cards when these songs are released on Tuesday via Xbox Live and Thursday via PSN. The Green Day pack will be available for 440
/$5.50 and the Mayhem Festival pack for 1080
/$13.50, and of course all of the tracks will be available individually for the regular price of 160
/$2.

It’s a sad day indeed when I’m more excited about Marilyn Manson’s “Disposable Teens” than I am about anything Green Day has to offer. Is it that they didn’t sell enough copies of this godawful album through other channels that they’re now assaulting Rock Band users with it?
