Nintendo World Domination Marches On
Author: Rees | Date: July 17, 2009Say what you will about Nintendo, but you can’t argue that there’s been huge public demand for the DS and Wii since launch. In fact, sales chart gurus NPD Group have just announced that iterations of the DS have sold more than the other current-gen consoles combined in North America this month (data for other regions is not available), and that the Wii continues to be the top-selling console for the 21st month running.
Sales figures are as follows:
- Nintendo DSi: 424,000 units
- Nintendo DS: 342,000 units
- Nintendo Wii: 362,000 units
(June 2009 sales for North American region according to NPD)
Also of note is that the company has shifted 374,000 units of the new Wii MotionPlus, the new Wii Remote sensitivity enhancing add-on, since launch.
