Left 4 Dead 1 Getting a Whole New Campaign
Author: Vince | Date: August 4, 2009
Remember when Valve promised to continue to support the original L4D after announcing L4D2 at E3 this year? Well, here’s the first bit of proof for the many doubters out there, because “targeted for release in September” is ‘Crash Course’, an complete new campaign level that bridges the storyline between ‘No Mercy’ & ‘Death Toll’, complete with new dialogue from the original cast and an explosive finale.
Whilst the new level will be playable in both co-op campaign and survival modes, where Valve expect it to shine is in versus mode. The infected will have a recharge timer hampering them whilst the item-spawn patterns will be changed to throw the survivors.
All you PC L4D players can now whoop in delight as ‘Crash Course’ will be free for you when it is released, Xbox 360 owners on the other hand will not get it so easy as the new DLC will set you back 560
! I’ve heard of MS refusing to allow some content to be free on XBLM, but free on the PC or £4.75/$7 on the Xbox seems a bit much.
