Today at Gamescom Alex Rigopulos, CEO and co-founder of Harmonix, revealed that Queen, Nirvana, Tom Petty, Elton John, Iggy Pop, The White Stripes, Pantera, Talking Heads, Korn, The Raconteurs and more will be among the artists coming to the various offerings across the Rock Band platform.
This is an announcement that is sure to steal some thunder from Activision, who have been boasting about the number of artists that will be making their music game debut in Guitar Hero 5, Elton John, Tom Petty and The White Stripes being among them.
There is currently over 800 songs available to download for Rock Band and Harmonix aim to have increased this to over 1000 by the end of the year with the introduction of the Rock Band Network system, allowing bands to get their own music into the game through a peer review process.
