For day 2 of our week of competitions we have 3 codes for the Gears of War 2: All Fronts Collection, featuring all of the games map packs to date and the single players campaigns ‘deleted scene’, thanks to those bloody nice chaps (and chapesses) over at Epic Games.  There will be 3 ways for you to claim one of these codes as we will be giving one away on our Twitter feed in the next 24 hours, one on our Facebook page and one here on the site.

In order to win the one up for grabs here on the site all you need to do is comment on this post, it doesn’t matter what the comment is, but it’ll probably improve your chances if you can make us laugh.  You have until 18:00 on Saturday 29th August 2009 to enter, at which point we will choose a winner.

Remember how Guitar Hero made their claims about all the new artists making their rhythm game debut in Guitar Hero 5?  Well, this week sees Harmonix pull the rug out from under Activision as Tom Petty make his rhythm game debut in Rock Band, a few weeks before GH5 hits stores, with the classics ‘I Won’t Back Down’ & ‘Runnin’ Down a Dream’ from his 1989 solo album Full Moon Fever.

Alongside Tom Petty will be former Generation X frontman and all round rock legend Billy Idol who will be bringing his other two memorable tracks, ‘Mony Mony’ and ‘Rebel Yell’ to Rock Band to join ‘White Wedding’ in the ultimate Billy setlist.

Finally, we will also be treated to two more tracks from Miss Nicks and co. (baaaa), aka Fleetwood Mac, and another track from Aussie rockers Jet.

There is no track packs this week, so all songs are available individually for the price of 160/$2 each when they are released on Tuesday via XBLA and Thursday via PSN.

These mock-up boxes can (currently) be found in Gamestop stores across America advertising to customers that Forza Motorsport 3 will soon be coming to the Playstation 3, which is great except for the minor problem that the game is an Xbox 360 exclusive.

I have to wonder how this has happened, as Gamestop are a specialist gaming retailer and so should have enough of a clue (and release information) to know this will never happen, not unless Microsoft are about to announce the death of the 360 anyway…

Konami will be bringing its classic arcade racer GTi Club to WiiWare early next year under the working title GTi Club: Supermini Fiesta!

Currently scheduled for a Spring 2010 release, GTI Club Supermini Festa! is based on the latest arcade iteration of the long-running series, and charges the player with racing a series of compact cars around a series of cityscapes across France, the UK, Italy, the US, and Japan. Everything about the game is geared towards searing speed and intuitive handling, with players tussling with CPU-controlled cars or their friends through busy streets as they attempt to be the first past the winning line.
