Queen’s guitarist Brian May took some time out recently to talk to the BBC about the band that set to be the next generations answer to Mr. Mercury & Mr. May’s band, Muse.  What’s that got to do with video games I hear you ask?  Well, at the end of the interview things must have moved down a very much more digital path, as they exclusively (accidentally?) confirm that he will be a playable character in Lego Rock Band along with David Bowie & Iggy Pop:-

May also said he was delighted that he was being portrayed as a figure in a Lego Rock Band game – due out next month.

“It’s the ultimate accolade, to be portrayed in Lego,” he said. “My dreams are all fulfilled now.”

Lego Rock Band was not the end of the gaming related revelations though, because despite the imminent release of a 10 track Queen pack for Rock Band, Brian also reveals that there is talks going on regarding a dedicated Queen game.  No mention of which side of the fence they are sitting on, but it’s a fair bet that it’s Harmonix’s.  As what musical legend in their right mind would compare Guitar Hero: Metallica and TB:RB and decide that the former was the way to go

And he said there was talk “going on behind the scenes” about a dedicated Queen Rock Band game – like The Beatles version that came out last month.

“Yes we’re into it, I think it may happen,” he said.

I have fired off some emails to get confirmation on this and maybe some screenshots too, I’ll post back my findings!
