Halo: CE Anniversary, F1 2011, Silent Hill & Dark Souls Join GAMEfest Lineup

Microsoft have revealed the lineup of playable games that they are bringing to GAMEfest at the Birmingham NEC from September 16th – 18th. Leading the charge the HD retelling of Master Chief’s first outing, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, with UK fans eager to restart the fight getting their first opportunity to get hands on with the games multiplayer mode. Along with Halo: CEA, Microsoft will also be bringing Gears of War 3, Forza Motorsport 4, Dance Central 2, The Gunstringer & Kinect Sports Season 2 to the event, all making their UK debut in the process. Games are not all MS have up their sleeves though, they will also be showcasing a range of new hardware at the event including the new Limited Edition Gears of War 3 Xbox 360 and Wireless Controller as well as the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 console, Wireless Controller and Wireless Headset.
Although it may seem that way based on the pure volume of games and hardware they are bringing, MS are far from the only company attending with Capcom, Codemasters, Konami and Namco Bandai all confirming their lineups. Konami kick off proceedings (pun most certainly intended) with Pro Evolution Soccer 2012, the hotly anticipated Silent Hill: Downpour, the shiny Metal Gear Solid HD Collection and El Shaddah. Capcom will be showcasing their latest crossover fighter, Streetfighter x Tekken & Frank West’s triumphant return in Dead Rising 2: Off the Record as well as Dragon’s Dogma, Asuma’s Wrath & Resident Evil: Operation Racoon City.
Not to be left out of the love-in, Namco Bandai have also confirmed that Dark Souls, Ace Combat: Assault Horizon, Ridge Racer: Unbounded, Ben 10: Galactic Racing & upcoming 3rd person shooter Inversion will all be in attendance. Wrapping up the latest round of announcements are Codemasters who will have a solitary title on show at the event, their second stab at F1 on the highly acclaimed Ego Engine, F1 2011.
Tickets are selling fast for the event and have indeed already sold out for Saturday 17th, but you can still get tickets for the Friday or Sunday costing £10 for anyone aged 12 or over and £5 for anyone under 12 years old. To buy tickets, would-be attendees need to own a GAME reward card. If they do not currently own one, they can go to www.game.co.uk or to any GAME store to sign up and then go to the website to buy the tickets.
Finally, if you cannot make it to the event yourself then don’t worry as we will be bringing you our opinions of the event and the games on show right here after the event.
