We love LEGO here. We also love the current snow madness that’s gripping the Northern hemisphere, so here’s a creation that combines the two rather well. Now all we need is a giant LEGO pirate ship to a similar sort of scale, and we can all give up on this internet malarkey and go to bed.
This massive (6ft!) Mario statue was crafted by dutch site Game Mania, and is currently up for auction to support a children’s chairty in the Netherlands. Current asking price is €2550 (although I’m not sure that includes delivery), which is a bargain considering that it took 175 hours and over 40,000 bricks to build. It’s even been glued and reinforced internally for strength!
Unfortunately Luigi isn’t included (has he actually been Photoshopped in!?) but the statue is cool enough without it.
Who loves Shadow Complex? Apparently, quite a lot of people, as this epic 2D/3D romp has been a massive success since it released on Xbox Live Arcade. So much of a success, in fact, that Flickr user 2 Much Caffeine created this awesome little homage to the game in LEGO.
We love LEGO here at Team Teabag, and we love explodey shooty games, so this is like heaven for us. In fact, It could only be better if it was made of cake.
What does 1,500 hours of stop motion fiddling get you? This awesome 8-bit inspired music video is where it gets you. Oh yes.
Created by Tomas Redigh, with music by Daniel Larsson, the video features nods to all your favourite old-skool games and systems and has a wicked chiptune soundtrack to boot. Now, where can I get this on vinyl?
We all love Lego right? And we all love Rock Band right? Well this winter Warner will be bringing you both of them in one package in the form of Lego Rock Band on all major formats. Aimed at a younger audience than the standard RB games it aims to combine the multiplayer experience of Rock Band with the accessibility, customization and humor of the Lego games. LRB allows players to create their own unique rock star style and customize their own band members, roadies, and managers.
Success is no longer rewarded with money but with that global Lego currency ’studs’ instead. These can be used to unlock additional content and build crazy vehicles which will take you from gigs at local clubs to stadiums and even epic fantasy locations as you progress through the game.
That’s right folks, that’s another week over (is this year going fast or what?) so it’s time to take a look at the best posts from the previous 7 days!
First up, we decided it’d be a good idea to get in on this Twitter thing. Now you can follow Team Teabag on Twitter even more easily than if you used our normal RSS feed, and even more easily than visiting our homepage every day. Now you have multiple ways to keep up to date with the best gaming, technology, and gadgets site in the world!
We love LEGO here at TTB, and as it’s the geek’s medium of choice, it’s also no surprise that a lot of other gamers appreciate its blocky plastic goodness too.
OK, so it’s perhaps one of the worst-kept secrets in gaming, but we didn’t want to speculate for fear that it might not be true. Fortunately Warner Bros, TT Games, LEGO, Harmonix and MTV Games have come together in some kind of massive unholy mashup and actually delivered the goods.
Hopefully these screenshots prove that the game is looking great already, and what with being LEGO-based this time around, the game’s creators have really gone to town on the customisation options and imaginative new venues. The game comes with songs suitable for younger audiences, and while we don’t know yet whether they’ll also be transferrable ot the real Rock Band, I don’t much care, because playing as a LEGO character more than makes up for it. Following on from the runaway success of the Lego Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Batman games, Harry Potter is set to be the next franchise given the Lego makeover if CVG’s sources are to be believed. If the rumours are true then the game is set to release alongside the new Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, when it releases next year.
